Art exhibits explore themes of faith and self-reflection
In the Secret Place, an exhibit of
prints and paintings by Arlene Burke-Morgan is featured in The
Gage Family Art Gallery from January 12 though February 16. With faith
as the foundation of her work, Burke-Morgan’s work features strong
design elements and vibrant use of color. She intends her art as a means
to honor her most cherished values. She is a past recipient of a McKnight
Foundation Fellowship.
In the Christensen Center Art Gallery Unmet, an exhibit of striking photographic images by Aviel Goodman runs the same schedule. Goodman’s interest in having viewers recognize and recover dissociated parts of themselves in his imagery resonates with his professional expertise as a psychotherapist. Most recently he exhibited at the California Building Gallery and Gallery Thirteen, both in Minneapolis.
All events at the Augsburg Art Galleries are free and open to the general public. Visit www.augsburg.edu/galleries for details.
