Preparing for a diverse student population

This workshop will prepare the Augsburg community for the increasingly diverse student population that will be coming to the college in the next decade. It is a part of a larger initiative that will help define thinking about diversity and global learning on campus and how it can be incorporated into the curriculum.
Participants will engage in a series of interactive and reflective activities that examine a global issue, look at different cultural perspectives on that issue, and examine personal perspectives on what to do about it. There will then be a conversation about different ways to apply the model in classes.
It is one of many development sessions designed to help infuse diversity and global learning into the curriculum.
The schedule for the day is as follows:
8:30 - 9 a.m. Muffins
9 - 10:45 a.m. Contexts for Diversity & Global Learning
11 a.m. - noon The Augsburg Infusion Model
noon - 1 p.m. Lunch
1 - 4 p.m. Curriculum Workshop: Applying the Model
4 p.m. Merlot
