Course evaluations get your opinions heard

Don’t you hate the annoying reminders about course evaluations that keep popping into your inbox this time of year? As junior Nick Nelson says, “I never really do my course evaluations, but I probably should because my input is the most important.” Well Nick, if you want your input heard you need to be doing your course evaluations.
Diane Pike, Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning and Professor of Sociology says “The College works hard to provide the opportunity for students to offer feedback on their course experiences. While this end of semester evaluation is only one tool, it is a very important one. The patterns of information learned from students are looked at by the professor, the Department Chair and the Dean of the College after grades have been submitted."
She adds "The on-line form helps protect student confidentiality and the ability to process the forms on-line means that the data is distributed in a timely way. So, please take a few minutes to let us know about your experiences. It is a real contribution!”
Why would you ignore the opportunity to express your opinion about your education? If you want change, or like things the way they are, course evaluations are your way to get your opinions heard.
