Study Tour Scholarship Opportunity

'Not So Distant Neighbors: U.S. & Mexico Today' Student/Faculty/Staff International Study Seminar
August 5-13, 2006.

The purpose of the travel seminar is to introduce participants to Mexican history, culture, politics, economics, and society with the goal of increasing cross-cultural understanding and fostering peaceful and productive relations between our countries.

Ten participants from Augsburg College will be accepted into this seminar with a scholarship from the Hoversten Peace Endowment. Preference will be given to applicants who have not had extensive international travel experience and/or not had opportunities to visit Mexico.

With the scholarship, the total cost of this travel seminar will be $250 for students/ $400 for staff and $525 for faculty. Completed application must be returned to the Center for Teaching and Learning by March 31. Selections will be made by the CTL and representatives from CGE by April 15.

Eligibility:
-Faculty must have completed two years of full time employment by June 2006 and have assurance of full-time employment in 2006-07.
-Staff must have completed two years of full-time employment by June 2006 and may be exempt or non-exempt.
-Students must be returning full-time to Augsburg for the 2006-07 academic year. Graduating seniors are not eligible. Day, WEC, and graduate students are encouraged to apply.
