Gary Clayton Anderson to speak on ethnic cleansing and the American Indian
Gary Clayton Anderson, author of the Pulitzer Prize nominated book, “The Conquest of Texas: Ethnic Cleansing in the Promised Land,” will be a guest speaker at Augsburg College Feb. 16, 7 p.m. in the Marshall Room of Christiansen Center. Anderson will speak on “Ethnic Cleansing and the American Indian; Can a Case be Made for Texas and Minnesota?”
Anderson is a professor of history at the University of Oklahoma, specializing in ethno history and the history of Native Americans of the Great Plains and American Southwest. He earned his B.A. from Concordia College in Moorhead, an M.A. from the University of South Dakota and a Ph.D. from the University of Toledo.
The American Indian Studies, the American Indian Student Services and the Department of History sponsor the event, which is free and open to the public.
