Study Art and Medieval History in France: Only 3 Spaces Left!

March, 2006

Professors Tara Christopherson (Art) and Phil Adamo (History) invite you to study abroad, from May 14 to June 4, in beautiful France!

Christopherson will offer ART 100—Plein-air sketching, which encourages students to understand beauty by making sketches in the paths, places, and architecture of the sites we visit. No previous art experience is needed.

Adamo will teach HIS 440—Religious Expression in Medieval France, which examines the history of medieval Christianity in all its forms: the authority of the papacy, the custom of pilgrimage, the practice of monasticism, and the response to heresy.

We will visit cathedrals, monasteries, walled towns, and even make a short pilgrimage on foot to gain a first-hand experience of what we are studying. Last four days are in Paris!

For more info, come to the study abroad fair, this Friday, February 17 in the Christensen Center. Or contact Phil Adamo at adamo@augsburg.edu, or Tara Christopherson at christop@augsburg.edu.
