Writing Lab Hours
It's time! The marvelous writing tutors at the Augsburg Writing Lab are ready to help Augsburg students with any writing task -- papers, reports, applications, personal statements, resumes, etc. The WL is located on the street level of Lindell Library, just left of the circulation desk. No appointments are taken; just come with ideas, drafts (in hard copy), assignments. Last semester, the tutors conducted over 1,000 sessions with Augsburg grad and undergrad students. Here are the hours for spring semester:
Mondays: 11:10-1:40 and 6:30-9:30 PM
Tuesdays: 12:30-3:00; 3:30-6:00; and 7:30-10 PM
Wednesdays: 3:30-6:00 and 6:30-9:00 PM
Thursdays: 12:30-3:00; 3:30-6:00 and 7:30-10:00 PM
Fridays: 4:30-7:00 PM
Sundays: 5:00-8:00 PM

Register Now to Present at Zyzzogeton
Zyzzogeton 2016 Registration Deadline is March 10!
Zyzzogeton, Augsburg's annual student research symposium, will be held on Thursday, April 14, from 3-5 p.m. in Hoversten Chapel.
Students who plan to present their research or creative activity at this poster session will need to register and submit an abstract online at www.augsburg.edu/urgo by March 10 (click maroon box on right side of URGO homepage). Please work closely with your research mentors on your poster.
URGO and McNair will be hosting a Research Poster workshop where you can bring your working draft and receive one-on-one feedback and help on Wednesday, March 23, from 4:30-6 p.m. in SVE 204. We will be providing dinner, so please RSVP to urgo@augsburg.edu if you plan to come.

Go Abroad with Fulbright! - Tabling TODAY
URGO will be tabling in the Off-Campus Studies fair today from 10:30-2:30 in Christensen, so stop by to learn more about the Fulbright Program!
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program provides grants for English Teaching Assistantships (ETA) or study/research projects abroad following graduation. Juniors and Seniors can begin their applications now!
During their grants, Fulbrighters will meet, work, live with and learn from the people of the host country, sharing daily experiences. The program facilitates cultural exchange through direct interaction on an individual basis in the classroom, field, home, and in routine tasks, allowing the grantee to gain an appreciation of others' viewpoints and beliefs, the way they do things, and the way they think. Through engagement in the community, the individual will interact with their hosts on a one-to-one basis in an atmosphere of openness, academic integrity, and intellectual freedom, thereby promoting mutual understanding.

2015-2016 Augsburg Leadership Awards
Nominations for the 2015-2016 Augsburg Leadership Awards are now open!
These awards recognize student leaders and student organizations for their innovative and outstanding leadership during this academic year. Recipients will be honored at the 17th Annual Augsburg Leadership Awards on Tuesday, April 5 from 5-7 p.m. in Hoversten Chapel.
All students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community members are strongly encouraged to submit nominations; self-nominations are also encouraged. The deadline for nominations is Friday, March 11 by 5:00 p.m.

TerraCycle
The Environmental Student Leaders Action Network has introduced Terracycle bins to the Urness bathrooms. The bins will collect Personal care products such as: Toothpaste, toothbrushes, Shower products, deodorant, etc. The floor that collects the most wins a PIZZA PARTY! The competition ends on March 10th! There is another Terracycle bin for community use in Christensen.

Zyzzogeton Research Symposium
Thursday, April 14th

Each year, Augsburg College celebrates the creativity and scholarship of undergraduate students with its annual Zyzzogeton Research Symposium. The event falls at the end of each academic year and is a culmination of achievement featuring work across departments. More than 80 students participate each year, showcasing their research. A "zyzzogeton" is a green leaf-hopper as well as the last word in the Webster Collegiate Dictionary, which is a fitting symbol to mark the end of the academic year. The public is welcome, so feel free to invite family, friends, and those from the community to this exciting event!
And there will be crowd favorites nachos and Italian sodas to boot!

Learn About Fellowship to Israel - Tabling Today
URGO will be tabling today as part of the Off-Campus Studies Fair from 10:30-2:30 in Christensen. Come learn more about this unique opportunity to travel to Israel to meet Israeli peers and learn about the country's history and culture. This fellowship is only available for Augsburg students.
The MINNE (Minne means "memory" in Norwegian) Fellows program will select one Augsburg student for a free 10-day fellowship in Israel from May 2-13, 2016. The goal of the program is to foster greater understanding between people and to educate college students about the Holocaust. The Minneapolis Jewish Federation and the Jewish Community Relations Council of Minnesota and the Dakotas (JCRC) will arrange for fellows to tour Israel with Israeli peers. The visit to Israel will include a tour of Yad Vashem, Israel's national Holocaust museum, additional Holocaust educational programming as well as touring the sites of Israel.
The Minneapolis Jewish Federation and the Jewish Community Relations Council of Minnesota and the Dakotas (JCRC) will arrange for fellows to tour Israel with Israeli peers.
-MINNE covers flight and land costs as well as granting students a $50/day per diem provided while the student is in Israel.
-Applicants must be U.S. citizens and registered for full time classes at Augsburg with at least one year left on campus. Students must be sophomores or above with a 3.0+ GPA.
-Applications are due March 1st and can be found at: http://jewishminneapolis.org/minne/.
