Hands-On Agresso Training

Next week new chairs and budget managers will prepare themselves for the start of the fall academic year.

Administrative Accounting and Finance will host two hands-on Agresso training workshops. We'll discuss how coding deposits and expenses affect budget and actual variances to budget/forecast, in addition to, the Agresso web tool.

The following two training sessions will be in the Sverdrup 201 computer lab:
1. Monday, August 25, 10 a.m.-noon
2. Thursday, August 28, 2-4 p.m.

Remember this is a hands-on event where you will be probing money transactions. So bring your cost center number and questions! Computers are limited so please sign-up today by clicking:

Moodle Help for New Faculty

The E-Learning team extends a special welcome to all newly hired Augsburg faculty. We are available to help you develop your Moodle course as you prepare for the upcoming Fall Semester in a couple of ways:

The Faculty Moodle Resource (FMR) site <http://moodle.augsburg.edu/moodle2014/course/view.php?id=2410> is a repository of "how-to" tip sheets and videos that provide step-by-step instructions for leveraging Moodle tools when designing a hybrid course OR enhancing face-to-face instruction.

The Academic LFC's <http://inside.augsburg.edu/it/get-help/faculty-and-staff-support-lfcs/> (Liaison's for Computing)--Eric Strom, Christy Mattingly, Nathan Lind--and E-Learning Specialist Bonnie Tensen are available to meet with you to provide suggestions and individual instruction. After three productive and well-attended discussions in off-campus, experiential settings this summer, we will begin to define priorities for curricular and program development at this last gathering of the summer series. Bookstore Info

Mark your calendars for August 28th - ALL Clearance merchandise will be 50% off! This is a one day event and in-store only!

The bookstore will be open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 9am-4pm Wednesday from 9am-6pm, and Friday from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

This week summer rentals are due! If you can't make it during our hours, please take advantage of our postage paid label and ship your book back!

This week, we will also be buying back purchased textbooks. Please make sure you have your Augsburg ID when selling back your textbooks.

Farewell To Nate Engle

Website Work Session TODAY

Website work session today from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Sverdrup 205.

This is a free-form, come-and-go session where the computer lab is reserved for any website content managers to come in and work on their websites. I will be there to answer questions and offer assistance.

Event Announcements

The Other Green Line - Saturday, Aug. 23

Don't miss the next Other Green Line foray, a creative exploration of nature on the Green Line with artist/botanist Sarah Nassif. The next guided foray is Saturday, August 23, 2014. Meet up with Sarah at Midwest Mountaineering at 2:30 p.m. for an introduction to river floodplain ecology and the history of Bohemian Flats. Then head out on an urban hike to see and draw the floodplains. All participants receive a free Field Book. The event lasts three hours and covers 1.5 miles on foot. All ages are welcome, and everyone is invited share their knowledge and stories to kick off the conversation about nature on the new Green Line. Faculty and Staff Book Group - Pastrix

This speaker for this fall's Bernhard M. Christensen Symposium will be Nadia Bolz-Weber, the pastor of House for All Sinners and Saints in Denver, Colo., and author of the blog Sarcastic Lutheran.com.

The Christensen Center for Vocation invites faculty and staff to participate in a series of discussions on her book, the New York Times Bestseller, Pastrix: The Cranky, Beautiful Faith of a Sinner & Saint.

The group will be led by Martha E. Stortz, Bernhard M. Christensen Professor of Religion and Vocation.

The Pastrix Book Group will meet in Foss 175 from 4-5:30 p.m. on the following four Mondays:

September 8 and 22
October 6 and 20
