Tales from Tanzania: TODAY, 1 p.m. Lindell 301
Join students from the recent trip to Tanzania as they share stories and field research from Kilimanjaro and a week of camping in the dusty, thorny, fire-ant-infested bush country of the Rift Valley. Among other things, we spent time with the great guides who accompanied us, bushmen, Datoga dancers, the Maasai Pastoral Council, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the Kilimatembo Secondary School, and the Iraqw Cultural boma, and even a few large mammals.

Night Songs: Light For A Weary World
The Augsburg College Youth Theology Institute would like to invite the entire Augsburg community to two special events on Monday June 17. James Flaten, the associate director of the Minnesota Space Grant will be giving an astronomy presentation on various images from space in Foss 43 from 6:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. Scott Rohr, cantor at University Lutheran Church of Hope, will lead us in an evening vespers service using these same images at 7:30 p.m. in the Hoversten Chapel. These events are part of the 2013 Youth Theology Institute's exploration of the intersection of science and religion. We hope you will join us.
Youth Theology Institute (ACYTI)
This week 20 high school students from around the region are participating in the annual Augsburg College Youth Theology Institute (ACYTI). This year's theme is "Navigating the Intersection of Science and Theology". The students will spend the week engaging in classroom instruction led by Nathan Hallanger and exploring community-based experiences supported by other Augsburg faculty and staff. As you see the students around campus, please feel free to say hi and to ask them about what they are learning! Following their time at Augsburg, the students will spend the summer writing an essay on a topic of their choice related to the theme. These papers will be compiled in an on-line journal to be published in the fall.
More information about ACYTI is available online: http://www.augsburg.edu/acfl/overview/
The Augsburg community is welcome to attend a closing worship with the group and their families at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 21 in the chapel. Special guest AGAPE*( http://hiphopoutreach.com/ ) will be leading worship.
