Keeping Track of Auggies

Christina Erickson Receives Research Grant

Grant awarded to study macro social work licensing

The New York Community Trust has funded a team of researchers to study the impact and effects of licensing on macro social workers. Social workers, like other professions such as teachers and physicians, are licensed by the states in which they practice. Licensing standards and regulations can impact education, influence the job market, and shape the profession. Understanding the impacts of social work licensing on macro practitioners is an area that is not well understood.

Dr. Christina L. Erickson will join faculty from the Catholic University of America in Washington DC, Dr. Linda Plitt Donaldson, the University of South Florida, Dr. Sondra Fogel, Dr. Katharine Hill and Dr. Sarah Ferguson of St. Catherine’s University , in a 2 year study on macro licensing issues across the nation. The study employs a mixed methods research design that includes individual interviews and on-line survey tools.

Nanny Needed

Nanny Inquiry:

My husband is a graduate student and also runs a freelance business. I need to spend some time to assist my husband in his home studio. We would like to find a nanny who can help us with our 2-year old daughter at our home till next summer. We may continue after that.

We prefer mornings (9:30-12:00). But we will accept afternoon help too (4:30-6:30). We are flexible. We need help at minimum 10-12 hours a week. We prefer a mature Christian woman who can come to our home, previous child care experiences are desired.

Pay is negotiable. We live in Hopkins, near 169 and 62 crosstown. If you are interested, please email your information/resume to Claire at theclairelan@gmail.com. We will require character references and employment references (if available) later in the hiring process.
