Parking/Traffic Advisory for Saturday
With the set up of the field dome this coming weekend, there will be some changes to parking and traffic flow.
On the morning of Sat. Nov 7, city street parking areas will be posted with "no parking" on the east side of 23rd Avenue from 7th street S to Butler Place, and on the north and south sides of Butler Place from the South Lot L entrance to 23rd Ave. The Butler Place roadway from the Lot L South entrance to 23rd Ave will be closed to all traffic.
These parking areas will also be posted with "no parking" on Thursday and Friday (Nov 5 and 6), however Butler Place will not be closed to traffic.
Students and staff coming to campus on Sat morning will need to access the campus from Riverside or 20th Ave S.
As always, Public Safety will be staffing Lot L to ensure adequate parking for students and staff with valid parking permits. Visitor parking for $5 in Lot L, will be limited.
NorthStar Commuter Line and Parking Refunds
The Northstar Commuter Rail will open on Nov 16th for service from Big Lake to Minneapolis. Stops along the way include: Elk River, Anoka, Coon Rapids, and Fridley. For those planning to leave their cars at home and ride the train to school or work, Public Safety is offering a pro-rated parking permit refund.
If you currently have a parking permit but plan to begin riding the Northsrar Commuter Rail once it opens, please contact parking@augsburg.edu. We can then work with you to get a pro-rated refund for your permit or start the process of canceling your payroll deduction.

Learn About Adult Student Recruitment and Retention
For Nontraditional Student Week, the Augsburg for Adults office is hosting two brown bag lunches. Staff members who attended the Adult Student Recruitment & Retention Conference in Madison, WI will share what they learned at this conference's keynote and breakout sessions.
Topics will include graduation rates of adult students, development of programs for nontraditional students, holistic approaches to adult student retention, and more!

Faculty & Staff Togo Containers hit the Commons
Faculty & Staff, Get your To-Go containers Now! If you are on the go or just want to eat in the office, well now you can. Just purchase an Eco-friendly reusable to-go Container for the Commons for the one-time Price of $5.99 per semester to use once per meal when you purchase your meal. Simply bring in a clean container for your food, load it up and go. If you are choosing to eat in the Commons, simply turn in the used container and get a card showing that you have purchased a container. Turn the card in when you are ready to use the Container again.
Restrictions: You may only use your container once per meal. You may not eat in the Commons and then choose to use your container. The Container is only for Faculty and Staff in the Commons. If you loose your container and/or your redeemer card and want to continue in the program, you must purchase one at full price ($5.99).

MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg College will host St. Johns University in the Auggies final home game of the season on Saturday (11/7) at 1 p.m. at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis.
Free parking is available in the Metrodome upper lot, adjacent to the Vikings' ticket office. Lot entrance is off of 11th Avenue South, near the intersection with 5th Street South.
Tickets will be sold at Gate B (adjacent to the North end of the parking lot) starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Pass gate and will call tickets will be at Gate D (adjacent to the South end of the parking lot above the loading dock entrance). Entry gates will open at 11:30 a.m.
Tickets will be handled just like a regular Augsburg home game. Tickets are $7 for adults, $3 for students. Augsburg, A-Club and MIAC passes will be accepted. All Augsburg students, faculty and staff get into any Augsburg regular-season home game free with ID. Augsburg students, faculty and staff MUST bring their student/staff ID with them in order to receive free admission. There will be no presale of tickets prior to the game.
All fan seating will be on the east site (football press box side), with Augsburg seating in Sections 109-113 and St. Johns seating in Sections 104-108 (click here for Metrodome seating chart).
Also on Saturday, the Minnesota Twins will be holding a "moving sale" at the Metrodome, which begins at 10 a.m., and runs until 4 p.m. Please be advised that people attending that event will also be able to park in the Metrodome upper lot.
If you can't make it to the game, you can listen to the action live online, through Augsburg's live audio webcast (Stretch Internet).
The game will mark the 20th season in a row that Augsburg has played a football game at the Metrodome. Augsburg will be making its 23rd football appearance at the Metrodome this season since 1983, the most of any MIAC school. The Auggies have a 8-14 record in games played at the Metrodome and a 9-14 record all-time in games played indoors. Augsburg also won an NCAA Division III playoff game over Concordia-Moorhead at the Fargodome in Fargo, N.D., in 1997.
Auggie Volleyball Hosts MIAC Playoff Match Tonight
MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg College volleyball team will be hosting a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference playoff match TONIGHT (Tuesday 11/3) at 7 p.m., hosting Concordia-Moorhead at Si Melby Hall.
In accordance with MIAC rules, ALL spectators, including Augsburg faculty, staff and students, must pay admission. Admission is $7 for adults and $3 for students. The only passes honored for admission are MIAC-issued passes.
Augsburg finished the regular season with a 17-13 overall record (6-5 MIAC), earning a spot in the MIAC playoffs for the first time since the conference went to its current six-team playoff format in 2001.
The winner of the Augsburg/Concordia match will move on to face top-seeded St. Benedict on Thursday (11/5) in semifinal action in St. Joseph, Minn. The conference championship match will be on Saturday (11/7) at the site of the highest remaining seed, with the winner earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III national tournament.

MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg College soccer players Alex Hildebrandt (SR, St. Paul, Minn./Highland Park HS) and Whitney Holman (SR, New Hope, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) were both named as first-team recipients on the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District soccer teams, it was announced recently.
It's the third straight year that Hildebrandt has earned Academic All-District honors, and his second straight first-team recognition. It's Holman's second straight first-team Academic All-District first-team honor.
A defender for the Auggie men's soccer team, Hildebrandt is an accounting/finance major with a 3.83 grade-point average.
This season, Hildebrandt finished with four goals for eight points, including two game-winning goals. In his career at Augsburg (71 games), Hildebrandt finished with 14 goals and nine assists for 37 points, including five game-winning goals.
Last season, Hildebrandt earned nearly every honor a collegiate soccer player can receive, being named to the All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference team and All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team, in addition to earning National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Adidas Division III All-America second-team and NSCAA/Adidas All-Far West Region first-team honors. Academically, he was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America third team and the NSCAA/Adidas Scholar All-Region squad and Scholar All-America first team.
A defender for the Auggie women's soccer team, Holman is a religion and psychology major with a 3.95 grade-point average.
Holman finished her senior campaign with three goals and two assists for eight points, including two game-winning goals. She started each of the 71 games in her Auggie career, with 10 goals and 10 assists for 30 points, including five game-winning goals, starting her career as a forward before being shifted to defense midway through her sophomore season.
She has earned All-MIAC honorable-mention honors each of the last two seasons, while earning NSCAA/Adidas Scholar All-Region honorable-mention honors last year. She has also earned Academic All-MIAC honors each of the last two seasons.
The ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District team is part of the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America program, administered by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Top student-athletes from non-Division I programs in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ontario and Manitoba are eligible for inclusion on the district team. Student-athletes must have a grade-point average above 3.30 (4.0 scale) and have outstanding athletic credentials. College sports information directors in the district vote for the teams.
First-team Academic All-District members advance to the Academic All-America ballot, voted on by a committee of CoSIDA members. The ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America soccer teams will be announced on Nov. 17-18.
