Writing Lab Will Open Sept. 21
The Augsburg College Writing Lab will open for fall semester/trimester on Monday, Sept. 21. The Lab is located on the main level of Lindell Library, just left of the circulation desk. No appointments are taken; just appear with your assignment in hand!
Fall hours:
Monday: 6:30 - 9 pm
Tuesday: 3-5:30 pm and 7:30 - 10 pm
Wednesday: 3-5:30 pm and 6:30 - 9 pm
Thursday: 3-5:30 pm and 7:30 - 10 pm
Friday: 5:00 - 7 pm (NOTE CHANGE IN TIME!)
Sunday: 5:30 - 8 pm
Writing lab tutors will visit all English classes in the next few weeks to provide further information. Faculty, if you would like a tutor to come to your class (es), please contact Kathy Swanson, English (x1010).

GMAT Prep - Registration Now Open
Almost finished with your undergraduate degree? Thinking about a Master of Business Administration program? Most MBA programs require the GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test) for admission. GMAT Prep sessions are offered this fall on campus through the Augsburg MBA Program. Sessions will cover verbal, writing, and quantitative problems.
The course meets Tuesdays 6-9 PM for five weeks (October 20 & 27, and November 3, 10, & 17). The cost is $300, including a $50 non-refundable deposit paid upon registration. This fee includes prep book and materials.
You may download the registration form from the MBA web site ( www.augsburg.edu/mba ). Alums and non-Augsburg students are also welcome to register.

Andrew Nguyen at International AOAC Meeting
Chemistry and Physics major Andrew Nguyen presented and received a scholarship at the Annual International Meeting of the AOAC in Philadelphia Sept. 12-14. At the meeting Genera Mills employee and '68 Augsburg Chemistry Alum Jonathan DeVries was awarded the International Analytical Chemistry Award.

Save the Date - Flu Shots on Campus
This is a reminder that the Minnesota Visiting Nurse Association will be on campus administering seasonal flu shots on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 from 11 -4 p.m. in the Riverside Room. The cost of the flu shot is $24.99 or they will bill your insurance provider.
Specific time slots will be available and you can sign up for those at the CCHP health fair which will be 9/29/09.
Any questions, please call the Center for Counseling & Health Promotion at 612-330-1707. All students, faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this clinic on campus.

Write for the Echo

Our first meeting will be held Friday, September 18 in the Echo office (in the basement of Christensen Center) at 10:15 a.m. We are looking for writers across the board-news, sports, features, arts and entertainment, and more. Writers are paid for each well written, printed submission.

Fall Credit Refunds
Fall Credit Refunds will be issued as follows:
Weekend/Grad programs - September 25th
Day program - October 2nd
All students are encouraged to sign up for direct deposit. See http://www.augsburg.edu/enroll for the direct deposit information.
Any refunds not issued via direct deposit will be mailed to the student's permanent address.
Complete your sign-up for direct deposit at least 5 days before the refund date (Weekend/Grad sign up by Sunday, Sept 20th and Day sign up by Sunday Sept 27th).

Augsburg Associates Fall Luncheon September 30

Auggie Wrestling Celebrates 6 Decades of Dominance

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg College wrestling program is celebrating "Six Decades of Dominance" in the 2009-10 season, and will have a special alumni, family and friends celebration weekend on Oct. 9-10.
The Auggie wrestling tradition started in 1949, and over the past 60 years, the Auggies have become one of the most dominant programs in the country in small-college wrestling, with both athletic and academic excellence as the program's hallmarks.
Alumni, family and friends are invited to return to Augsburg on Oct. 9-10 for a special celebration of 60 years of Augsburg wrestling history. There will be a social (casual) on Friday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. at Sgt. Preston's in Minneapolis, and a celebration on-campus on Saturday, Oct. 10 at the Christensen Center. A social hour (semi-formal) will be held from 4-5 p.m., with a buffet dinner and program (semi-formal) to follow from 5-7 p.m.
If you are interested in attending, fill out the RSVP form online and return it by Friday, Sept. 25 to head coach Mark Matzek at matzek@augsburg.edu.
