Augsburg Associates Fall Luncheon Sept. 30
Please join us for the annual Augsburg Associates Fall Luncheon on Wednesday, September 30th at the Town & Country Club in St. Paul. The fun begins with the Silent Auction at 10:30 a.m., followed by Lunch and the Annual Meeting at 11:30. New to the luncheon this year are raffle items, including a Mark Redmon autographed baseball and a beautiful Norwegian sweater. President Paul Pribbenow and his wife, Abigail, join others from the College to talk about peace education at Augsburg.
Register online at www.augsburg.edu/homecoming or complete the registration form from the Homecoming brochure (also found on the web site) and mail it to me along with your check to the Augsburg Associates at Campus Box 146. Cost of the luncheon is $25. Deadline for registration is September 23rd. Call me at 612-330-1085 with any questions. Hope to see you there! Becky
Spirituality Breakfast - Thursday, Sept. 10, 7:30 - 9 a.m.
Looking for a spiritual start to your day? The StepUP® Program at Augsburg College is hosting the annual kick-off event for Recovery Month, the Spirituality Breakfast. It will be held on Thursday, September 10th from 7:30 9:00am, in the East Commons of the Christensen Center. This program is open to Augsburg faculty, staff, students, and the general public. The breakfast and program are FREE and interested attendees must RSVP to Anne Grove in the StepUP office, 612-330-1692.
We hosted 125 attendees at last year's event where supporters were able to share their spiritual journey and vocations in recovery. This year's keynote speaker will be Brenda Iliff, the clinical director at the Hazelden Womens Center, and StepUP students will also speak about how recovery has affected their life.
This September is the 20th anniversary of National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's (SAMHSA) Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT). The purpose of Recovery Month is to promote the societal benefits of alcohol and drug addiction treatment, to laud the contributions of treatment providers, and to promote the message that recovery from alcohol and drug disorders in all its forms is possible.
