Writing a Grant Proposal?
Tuesday, October 21, 3:30 in Lindell 202
Join your colleagues and Carol Forbes to learn about the world of grant seeking. After a short introduction to the process at Augsburg, participants will have an opportunity to ask questions and discuss opportunities.
Study in Mexico: Spring 2009
More than just sun and sand! Consider the many ways in which a semester in Mexico will advance your personal, academic, and professional goals!
The Center for Global Education at Augsburg College has a few spots available on its spring study abroad program (Migration and Globalization: Engaging our Communities) in Cuernavaca, Mexico. The deadline for application has been extended to November 1, 2008.
Students will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Mexican culture, study Spanish, partake in an internship or volunteer opportunity, live with a host family, engage with local guest speakers and community leaders, and satisfy both LAF and some major requirements.
Travel scholarships are available to all Auggies and some students are eligible for additional funding through the Center for Global Education.
Students interested in applying should contact Augsburg Abroad (Murphy Place, ext. 1650, devega@augsburg.edu).

Should Legal Drinking Age Be Lowered?
This is National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week and at over 1000 colleges and universities across the country campuses are addressing alcohol abuse and raising awareness about this important topic. This year's theme is U Decide and encourages students to make safe choices, take care of friends, secure safe rides, find alternative sources of entertainment and be empowered.
Today, from 11 - 1 p.m. in Christensen Center, we want to hear from Augsburg students, faculty and staff in their own voices about whether the legal drinking age should be lowered and why or why not. Stop by the table in Christensen Center and record in your own voice and words your position on this topic.
There will also be an opportunity to try on Vision Goggles which simulate impaired vision. Additional information on alcohol use and abuse will be available.
Any questions, please call the CCHP office at 612-330-1707.

This Wednesday (10/8), the Augsburg College volleyball team will be hosting a "Dig Pink" event to promote breast cancer awareness. Student-athletes, coaches, administrators, fans and officials from across the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) and the nation are all teaming up to fight this common battle.
The Augsburg volleyball team is asking all fans to come and support the event by wearing pink to Wednesday night's match against Bethel at 7 p.m. at Si Melby Hall.
