Crime Notice: Theft From Motor Vehicle
Augsburg has had two theft from motor vehicle incidents in the last two days. On March 24th, a student called Augsburg Public Safety to report suspicious person attempting to break into a car parked in the Luther Hall/Anderson Hall parking lot. The suspicious person saw the student and fled. On March 25th, an unknown person broke out the rear window of a parked vehicle and stole the car radio and speakers. In both cases, the thief appears to have been after high-end car stereo equipment.
Throughout the city, theft from auto rises in the spring. This is a city wide issue that is not unique to Augsburg. Please consider the following crime prevention tips at all locations and all times of day:
- Always lock your vehicle and roll-up your windows.
- Keep valuables out of view. If possible, secure them in your trunk BEFORE you park your car. Better yet, leave your valuable at home.
- Keep your car keys on your person at all times.
- Never leave your car running unattended.
- Immediately report suspicious activity to the Minneapolis Police (911) or Augsburg DPS (x1717.)
If you have questions or concerns regarding crime at Augsburg, please contact John Pack, Director of Public Safety at 612-330-1644 or pack@augsburg.edu.
Teaching and Learning
Critical Thinking Exercises
I am conducting workshops in critical thinking at other institutions, and for these workshops I like to use good examples of how critical thinking is incorporated into pedagogical techniques. If you have an assignment, test, or other pedagogical piece that employs Bloom's taxonomy and would allow me to use it for teaching purposes, I would appreciate receiving a copy of it. I am particularly interested in examples outside of the humanities. Thanks.
