Security and Facilities Announcements
Security Alert: Burglary in Mortenson Hall
A Burglary occurred in Mortenson Hall the evening of Saturday Feb. 9 to the early morning of Feb. 10. A non-student entered a residence hall room and took an expensive electronic device. The incident was reported to Augsburg DPS on Feb. 25. The missing item was located and returned to the owner the next day.
You Can Help Prevent Crime at Augsburg!
- Dont let others tailgate into the residence halls behind you. If you are not comfortable confronting someone yourself, call DPS and describe the person who followed you in.
- Always lock your room whenever you leave, even if you will only be gone briefly. Most home burglaries take only 3 to 5 minutes. Residence Hall burglaries take even less time.
- Keep valuables out of view. If possible, secure them in drawer or cabinet. Better yet, leave unnecessary valuables at home.
- Know who you are letting into your room. Talk to your roommates and agree that strangers will not be left unattended in your room.
- Keep your car keys on your person at all times. This is especially important if you have a remote unlocking device for your car!
- Immediately report suspicious persons or activity to the Minneapolis Police or Augsburg DPS. You can reach Augsburg DPS all day, every day at x1717.
If you have questions or concerns regarding crime at Augsburg, please contact John Pack, Director of Public Safety at 612-330-1644 or pack@augsburg.edu.

Stop by the "Freedom Friday" table in Christensen Center today between 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. for a piece of delicious dark chocolate, sign the "Body Peace Treaty" from Seventeen Magazine, and learn about "Why Diets Don't Work."
Here are just a few of the messages from the "Body Peace Treaty":
I vow to:
* Never blame my body for the bad day I am having.
*Never allow a dirty look from someone else to influence how I feel about my appearance.
*Notice all the amazing things my body is doing for me every moment I walk, talk, think, breathe . . .
*Quiet that little negative voice in my head when it starts to say mean things about my body that I'd never tolerate anyone else saying about me.
*Know that I already beautiful just the way I am.
For more info on body image and eating concerns, visit www.augsburg.edu/cchp/eatingconcerns.html or go to the National Eating Disorders Week web site at www.nationaleatingdisorders.org.

This Week's Student TechTip -- AugNet Folders
Do you e-mail files to yourself so that you can work on them at home as well as at school? Save your files in your AugNet folder instead, and avoid the need to search for the right version in your e-mail!
Each Augsburg student has 200MB of file storage space (your "AugNet folder") that can be accessed from any computer with an internet connection. Lab computers on campus automatically connect to this space when you log in, and a utility called NetStorage lets you get to your files through a web browser from home.
More information about student AugNet folders is available on the Student Technology web site at http://www.augsburg.edu/techdesk/netfolders/AugNet_Folders.html. This page also includes links to step-by-step instructions for accessing your AugNet folder from on or off campus.
If you have questions about this or any other aspect of student technology at Augsburg, please contact the TechDesk! We're here to assist students with their technology needs. We're available in person (Lindell Library 104), on the phone (612-330-1400), by e-mail at techdesk@augsburg.edu , and on the web at http://www.augsburg.edu/techdesk for your convenience.
