Robert Clyde
Message:
Bob Clyde, long time faculty and staff member, died early Tuesday morning at home with his family in Crystal, having been under Hospice care since mid- December. Bob came to Augsburg in the 1960s to direct the Center for Community Research and played many teaching, research and grant writing roles until his retirement in the mid 1990s. Along with all his many contributions, his persistence and authorship of a Title VIII Federal Grant led to the creation of the Cooperative Education program which laid the groundwork for the Center for Service, Work and Learning. Augsburg would be a very different place had it not been for Bob Clyde, his sense of vocation and many gifts, which he shared so fully, often quietly and unknown to most of us.
