Schield talks at National Statistics Conference
Message: Milo Schield, Professor in the Department of Business Administration, organized a session on Statistical Literacy at the national meeting of the American Statistical Association in Seattle. This is the ninth year he has organized such sessions. Speakers this year included Dr. Bernie Madison (University of Arkansas and President of the National Numeracy Network), Dr. Rebecca Hartzler (Seattle Community College and Co-PI of their Math Across the Community College Curriculum grant), Dr. Neal Lutsky (Carleton College and PI of their QR FIPSE grant), Mark Isaacson (Augsburg College and developer of the on-line Statistical Literacy course for Capella University) and Milo Schield (Director of the W. M. Keck Statistical Literacy Project at Augsburg College). Milo gave a talk on Difficulties Reading Bar Graphs in USA Today. |
